Artist Bio

“Making art is having the courage to discover your deepest part.
It requires searching and reaching for the depths of your feeling,
bringing it up to the surface of your heart and exposing it for the whole world to see.”

Like most artists, I have been making art my whole life. Although I have had little formal training, I have taken many classes, attended workshops, watched a lot of You Tube videos, and read any number of art instruction books. Most of what I’ve learned is from trial and error. It has taken a lifetime and I will never be totally satisfied with my end result, but the journey itself is a gift I cherish.

Over the years I have designed greeting cards, had some of my art licensed on products and exhibited and won a few art fair ribbons. Although none of this is really the focus of my work, I truly just love the process and it has been an important part of my journey. I am currently working in colored pencil. I find it enjoyable and relaxing even while I am discovering its many opportunities, limitations and frustrations.

Sharing my art is important to me. We all have something to say and we hope we will be heard, and that we connect, inspire, entertain, amuse, or somehow reach the hearts of those who view our work and hopefully hear our voice.
